Prof. Jumana Saleh holds a Ph.D. degree from the Division of Experimental Medicine-McGill University, Canada, and post-Doctoral training at the University of Toronto.
She is currently a full Professor of Biochemistry at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. Her research focuses on metabolic alterations and oxidative stress connected to obesity and cardiovascular risk. She served as Vice President of ISANH- Middle East, and a board member of the Oman Society of Lipid and Atherosclerosis, and SQU medical journal.
Prof. Saleh published more than 60 peer-reviewed papers, conference abstracts, and numerous local articles. Recently, she published an invited commentary in Nature Outlook and Scientific American and was featured in the Australian Journal “The Brilliant”. She contributed to 37 conferences and media interviews. She supervised 16 graduate and 34 postgraduate and undergraduate student projects and authored the column (Science Says) in a local journal. She wrote 27 local articles, 16 Press releases and 11 media and radio interviews. She is an associate editor, reviewer, and official translator in medical journals, and a committee member for promotion, quality assurance, and program evaluation. She has served as an evaluator and judge for numerous research projects and promotion dossiers.
